TESAURO DE PLANTAS MEDICINALES - BILINGÜE

Celtis australis L.

Nota de alcance

PARTE UTILIZADA=Used part: Flor, corteza.

ACCIÓN FARMACOLÓGICA=Pharmacological action: Dolores de estómago y aperitivo.

COMPOSICIÓN QUÍMICA=Chemical composition: Air-dried, ground leaves (547 g) of C. australis were exhaustively macerated with MeOH to yield 91.0 g of crude extract after evaporation of the solvent in vacuo. The crude extract was re-dissolved in a mixture of MeOH and H2O (1/2, v/v) and successively partitioned with petrol ether, CH2Cl2, and n-BuOH. The BuOH layer was brought to dryness in vacuo to yield 23.9 g of residue. Acacetin 7-O-glucoside 1 (7.1 mg), isovitexin 2 (¼apigenin 6-C-glucoside) (14.7 mg), and cytisoside 3 (¼acacetin 8-Cglucoside) (12.5 mg) (Fig. 1) were isolated from the BuOH layer of a MeOH extract of C. australis leaves by repeated Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography using mixtures of MeOH, (CH3)2CO, and H2O (3/1/1, v/v/v) and MeOH/H2O (1/1, v/v) as mobile phases. Structures were determined based on NMR and MS data as well as by comparison with literature data of the above and similar compounds (Itokawa et al., 1981; Kumamoto et al., 1985; Sharaf et al., 1997; Peng et al., 2005).

ZONA GEOGRÁFICA=Geografical zone: Uruguay.
